Welcome to EU Nurse Leaders
Official website of the European Nurse Directors Association (ENDA)
The European Nurse Directors Association (ENDA) was founded in 1992 in Geneva, Switzerland for the purpose of building a network between nurse directors throughout Europe. The following years the ENDA developed herself and chose three objectives.
The main objectives of the ENDA are to to strengthen the nursing contribution to policy making in the context of healthcare management in Europe, to further the development of the art and science of nursing leadership and management in Europe and to establish formal links between Nurse Directors across Europe to support a communication network of experts.
The ENDA is organising a bi-yearly congress in a main European city. So far 8 ENDA meetings took place in Geneva (Switzerland, 1993), Brussels (Belgium, 1995), Turku (Finland, 1997), Halle (Germany, 1999), Rotterdam (The Netherlands, 2001), Glasgow (Scotland, UK, 2003), Vienna (Austria, 2005) and Reykjavik (Iceland, 2007). The next congress will be held in October 7th - 9th 2009 in Helsinki, Finland.
Each participating country has his own national representative in the Standing Committee of the ENDA. The Committee chose out of her members a board. The ENDA welcomes more participants and members in order to extend her European network of experts.
ENDA is a member of ESNO (European Specialist Nurses Organisations, associated member of the European Federation of Nurses Associations EFN).
The ENDA also participates in the European Nutrition for Health Alliance (ENHA). See on www.european-nutrition.org
